Dato’ Lau Chee Kheong is a distinguished Executive Director and Group Chief Operations Officer with a solid educational background and a deep-rooted understanding of business operations. He began his education at Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Hua Lian in Taiping, Perak, and further enhanced his credentials by obtaining a Professional Diploma in Business Administration focusing on Finance from the Genovasi Centre for Higher Learning. His academic pursuits laid the foundation for his later successes in various leadership roles across multiple organizations.

Dato’ Lau embarked on his professional career as a Technical Supervisor at Tekskill Component Sdn. Bhd., where he worked from 1980 to 1984, followed by a role as Supervisor at Toriki Metal Engineering Sdn. Bhd. until 1986. He then escalated to the position of Assistant Factory Manager at Leader Electrical Appliances Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., later known as GUH Electrical Appliances Sdn. Bhd., demonstrating his proficiency and adaptability in managing complex operations. Since his first appointment to the board on 29 March 2018, Dato’ Lau has shown exemplary leadership, although he does not hold any membership on the Board Committee.

Currently, Dato’ Lau contributes to the corporate world as a Director at UWC Berhad and several private limited companies, alongside recently serving as a Director of UMedic Group Berhad until October 2023.
