Bridging Industry and Academia to Shape Future-Ready Engineers

6 September 2026

Our Deputy COO and senior engineering managers were invited by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) to serve as Industry Supervisors, working alongside professors from Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering.
Together, they are contributing practical industry knowledge to develop a multidisciplinary engineering syllabus that reflects today’s technologies, challenges and workforce needs.

Modern engineering no longer operates within a single discipline. Mechanical systems, electrical controls and chemical processes must work seamlessly together. This collaboration aims to equip local university students with strong technical foundations, practical problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset—developing not only future engineers, but also future technopreneurs who can turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions and businesses.

At UWC, we believe industry must do more than offer jobs. We must work closely with local universities to shape relevant education and nurture the next generation of Malaysian engineers, innovators and technopreneurs.
Together, we are not only developing a syllabus—we are strengthening Malaysia’s future engineering talent and innovation ecosystem.
